CONSTRUCTION CAREER PATHWAYS
Connecting students with real-world construction experiences to inspire them to pursue well-paying careers in the trades that strengthen our communities.
The Construction Career Pathways program offers 6-12 graders opportunities to explore construction careers through in-school presentations, training provider visits and job site experiences. No matter where students are on their career exploration journey, these events will provide excellent opportunities to begin or deepen their understanding of construction careers.
This helps students make informed decisions about their future while giving businesses an opportunity to connect with local students interested in construction. Businesses play a vital role in developing tomorrow's workforce. This program allows them to connect with students and showcase their company and the specific skills they look for when recruiting.
By educating young people about our industry, we are creating pathways to high-demand careers that benefit our entire region.

Training provider visits November-February
For 11-12 grade students considering construction careers, these field trips to apprenticeship programs, trade schools and technical colleges provide crucial exposure to training options. Students tour facilities, observe training and interact with instructors and trainees. These visits help students understand the educational pathways into construction and the skills development process while allowing businesses to showcase their training facilities and programs.
Training provider visits run between 2-3 hours.
Job Site Experiences March-May
Businesses can invite 11-12 grade students to visit active construction sites and witness the industry in action. These carefully supervised visits allow students to observe various trades working together, understand project stages, and experience the dynamic nature of construction environments. Students connect with workers on site, ask questions, and envision themselves in these roles.
Job site experiences generally take 2-4 hours including travel time.
